Jill Janofsky is an experienced higher education professional with over a decade of experience in the college counseling field. After graduating from Barnard College, she began her career in the college access field in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood. She worked with first-generation high school students as they navigated the complex processes of applying to, writing personal statements for, and securing financial aid at colleges and universities throughout the United States.  She is currently an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).

In addition to her college access work, Jill has served as an advisor to numerous undergraduates at the City University of New York (CUNY) and the University of Maryland. She has seen first-hand the importance of institutional fit in facilitating student success, and knows the art presenting oneself on paper to an admissions committee.  While at CUNY, she earned her M.S.Ed. in Higher Education from Baruch College. She has also conducted alumna admissions interviews for her alma mater, Barnard College.

Jill views the college search as an educational process, and works diligently to ensure that students and their families - regardless of their backgrounds, high school records, or previous educational experiences - remain informed about the best options for them. No matter your academic background, there is a school out there for you - and she will help you get there!
